We are looking for enthusiastic, inspiring and versatile EHCP Teaching Assistants, who will work 1:1, with small groups or supporting in specific lessons, to facilitate and promote teaching and learning of children with an Education Healthcare Plan. This role presents an opportunity to motivate young people to develop confidence in their own independent learning and resilience. This is an opportunity to grow professionally whilst working in a supportive environment.
The purpose of our EHCP Teaching Assistants is to:
- Work under the guidance of the Director of Learning Development to ensure that the aims and objectives of SEND across the Trust are consistently delivered;
- Deliver timely and effective learning support assistance for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)

This role will involve many and varied activities, with every day being different. To be succesful you must have:

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage staff, parent and pupil relationships
- The ability and commitment to work creatively to ensure that children develop as happy, motivated, independent learners
- Possess and understanding of, and commitment to, safeguarding children
- The ability to maintain confidentiality
It may be an advantage if you have previous experience or qualifications working with or supporting young people.
We require EHCP Teaching Assistants who are committed to working between 21 and 34 hours per week, during term-time (35 weeks), to support pupils in Key Stages 4 and 5 within Leicester Grammar School.
We also have some part-time hours available to support pupils in Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 at LGS Stoneygate.
Remuneration will be at £13.87 per hour, with holiday pay added to your monthly salary.
As this role is dependent upon external funding, it is offered on a fixed term basis until 31 August 2024, in the first instance, although this cannot be guaranteed. The fixed period contract is subject to:
- The current period of the funding agreement from the County, and
- The pupil/s with EHCP that you support remain within the school/Trust.
