Qualified Teacher of English & Literacy (Associate/Trainee considered)
Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.00pm (Term-Time only, 39 weeks)
Salary – Associate / MPS - Teachers M-Scale 1 to 6.
An opportunity has arisen to join the English Department as a Teacher of English and Literacy. The position will see you as part of a core subject team as well as supporting pastorally in a Tutor group. The successful candidate needs to be creative, well organised and have the ability and skills to successfully build a good rapport with students in order to deliver dynamic lessons to a diverse range of students.
A secure knowledge of English Skills along with a good awareness of current English GCSE and Functional Skills specifications would be advantageous. Experience of SEN/SEMH related strategies and programmes would be welcomed.
We welcome applications from those are currently in a supporting role who would like to further their experience and can demonstrate the ability to be adaptable, creative and professional.
All of our learners have EHCPs and as a school we are proud to promote the development of life skills and social development as equal to academic achievement. West Heath School work towards the end goal of helping students re-integrate into mainstream learning and preparation for adulthood.

West Heath School is an Independent SEN residential school with charity status. We provide a therapeutically informed learning environment for children aged 10-19 who have suffered some form of trauma and are unable to access mainstream education.
