About the Position
A rare opportunity to be an Etiquette Teacher and Mentor, at a unique old-meets-new-world boutique Etiquette and Cultural Academy for adults aged 18 years and above launching in Dubai, UAE in April. The ideal candidate will teach ladies, gentlemen and corporate houses in and around the region about effective communication and etiquette. The ideal candidate, preferably female (although male teachers may also apply) will develop eclectic coursework and grow this segment of the business internationally.
Course work will include correct posture, making lasting impressions, conversation dos and don'ts, correct pronunciation of words in popular languages and culture (in relation to food menus, business interactions etc), history, etiquette and dining decorum (in the following cultures: French, English, Swiss, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, Chinese), familiarisation with luxury and exotic brands and gourmet foods (caviar etc), history of the afternoon tea, entertaining like royalty (home, restaurant, banquet), table décor and floral arrangements, correct codes of conduct professionally and personally (royal and diplomatic etiquette, manners and expectations), effective communication, developing personal and corporate brand equity, image and persona, making presentations and speeches, keys to time/stress/human resource management.
Job Specification
The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 3 years previous experience in teaching Etiquette and/or the Finishing Arts, and should have:
- A deep knowledge of Social, Corporate and International Etiquette and Soft Skills in the following cultures: Arabic, British, American, French, Continental and Indian cultures. Candidates with knowledge of Japanese, Chinese, Russian and African cultures will have an advantage.
- Developed interactive and eclectic coursework and be willing to develop it further to fit the needs of the target market.
- A strong awareness of brands, must be well travelled, and have the required mannerisms and persona of a cultured, well-exposed and dignified mentor.
- An excellent command over the English language, both verbal and written, and must have a refined eloquence and diction in verbal delivery. Additional knowledge in other languages like French, Italian and Arabic is beneficial.
