Job overview

We are looking for exam invigilators/scribes to support our students during exam periods. Key responsibilities include providing invigilation for internal and external examinations, acting as a reader or scribe as required, and supervision of students using word processors. The role includes both invigilation for whole year groups of students and support for individual students requiring reader/scribe, as necessary.

This role has variable hours which will be confirmed and agreed with the Examinations Officer. Most exams are taken in November, December, May and June so availability during these times is essential.

We regularly seek to appoint exam invigilators, so we can arrange a start date to suit the successful candidates. There will be some training to attend beforehand.

We are keen to recruit as soon as possible, and successful candidates will be required to attend a two hour training session.

Twyford CE High School, Acton

Twyford CE High School was set up by the LDBS in 1981. The school has an excellent reputation and is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted (May 2012) and SIAMS (April 2017). It has developed specialisms in Music and Modern Foreign Languages, as well as a large and highly successful Sixth Form in which Maths, Science and Computing are the largest areas. Since its inception the school has grown considerably and now admits around 975 students aged 11 to 16, and an additional 500 students to the Sixth Form.

The Twyford Trust

The Twyford Trust comprises four schools in the London Borough of Ealing. The Trust was established in October 2011 to enable an existing School, Twyford CE High School, to build on its successes and look outward to the large number of parents who were eager to become part of its community. The Twyford Trust aims to deliver outstanding education in a comprehensive school setting, and embraces the Twyford School motto ‘Life in all its fullness’, encouraging students to use their individual gifts wisely and well. Supported by the London Diocesan Board for Schools (LDBS), the Trust is the overarching organisation which provides support for all Trust schools. The Trust has a highly evolved common curriculum which has been devised by staff within the four schools. The Trust is also the hub of a Teaching School Alliance and prides itself on the standards of peer-led CPD within a dynamic culture of self-improvement.

About Twyford Church of England High School

Twyford CE High School is the founding  school of the Twyford CE Academies Trust, the highest performing Trust  in the UK.  It has specialisms in Music and Modern Foreign Languages and  a reputation for excellence  which has made it heavily oversubscribed. Twyford has very strong  Christian foundations and is rated ‘Outstanding’ in all areas by Ofsted  (October 2023) and SIAMS (April 2017). Twyford educates 1000 students in  years 7-11 and consistently achieves outstanding  GCSE results with positive Progress 8 scores. The school has a Sixth  Form of over 600 students and offers a wide range of A-Levels with  results so strong that they are always placed within the top 10% of  schools nationally. The majority of Sixth Form students  progress to university taking a wide range of courses including  Medicine and Engineering at Oxbridge and top Russell Group universities.  The Additional Resourced Centre is for students with EHC Plans, mainly  focused on students with Autism and Speech & Language  difficulties. The school prides itself on its inclusive approaches and  there is an active House System and Sixth Form Community Service  Programme which supports this.

Twyford CE High School is consulting on its Admissions policy for entry into Year 7 in September 2026 to include ‘Children of Staff’ places. If, as we expect, the proposal is approved, the admissions policy will include the following criterion: ‘Children of all staff’ where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time at which the application for admission to the school is made or where the member of staff has been recruited to a post where there is a demonstrable skill shortage.
