We have vacancies for Exam Invigilators to join our team of casual staff, who are available to work on a flexible basis throughout the school year. Our Invigilators conduct examinations in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ), awarding body and Wadham School regulations and instructions. Experience is not essential as training will be given.

Hours are by negotiation and agreement during November, January, March, May and June for external exams and November, February, June and July for internal exams.

We are looking for outstanding individuals who will relish the opportunity to:

• Ensure all candidates have an equal opportunity to demonstrate their abilities

• Complete training in the role and duties in accordance with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and

Safeguarding (KCSIE2023)

• Help set up exam rooms, according to requirements

• Ensure the security of the examination materials before, during and after the examination

• Prevent possible candidate malpractice and be able to instruct candidates during the exams

• Prevent possible administrative failures by being efficient and vigilant

• Act as a reader and/or scribe for students with exam concessions

You are likely to be someone who:

• Is reliable, flexible and readily available during main examination periods

• Can offer effective communication skills and good interpersonal skills

• Works well as part of a team

• Is confident and a reassuring presence to candidates in examination rooms

• Is confident to give instructions and manage situations involving different groups of people

• Can offer basic IT skills (Microsoft package, TEAMS and Outlook)

• Can seek to achieve competence in the role and develop a rigorous understanding of the JCQ regulations

About Wadham School

Wadham School is a mixed comprehensive, Church of England secondary school in the town of Crewkerne in South Somerset. It is a voluntary controlled state school under the Diocese of Bath and Wells.

In September 2022 the school increased in size with the addition of pupils from Years 7 and 8 as part of the local area reform. The school is now a thriving 11-18 secondary school with a Sixth Form.
