Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an Examinations Officer, responsible for the organisation and smooth running of both internal and external examinations, and acts as the primary liaison between the School and external examination bodies. The Examinations Officer will be familiar with the requirements and regulations placed on Schools by both awarding bodies and the Joint Council for Qualifications [JCQ], and ensures that the School is compliant with these before, during, and after examination periods. The postholder works with a wide range of adults and pupils and provides a reassuring and warm presence whilst operating at the highest professional standards.  The post holder is expected to work 37 hours per week with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. The position is full-time and the hours and days of work are Monday to Thursday 8.00am – 4.00pm and 8.00am – 3.30pm on Friday. The role is permanent and subject to a 6-month probationary period.

The safeguarding responsibilities of the post include: 

·        The provision of a safe environment in which children and young people feel heard

·        Being aware of the indicators of abuse and neglect

·        Ensuring vigilance in recognising changes in behaviour or mood

·        Reporting safeguarding concerns in line with the School’s Safeguarding Children and Child Protection Policy

·        Attending Safeguarding training and updates as requested by the School

The duties of this role meet the definition of regulated activity relevant to children and an enhanced DBS check with children’s barred list is appropriate.
