This is an exciting new role providing exceptional strategic leadership, vision and management for two of our special schools starting in January 2024. Co-op Academy Brierley is a brand new specialist through-school which opens in September 2023 in Leeds. Co-op Academy Southfield is a well established large secondary special school in Bradford. 

Our new academy, Co-op Academy Brierley, will offer an outstanding, inclusive and inspirational learning experience for pupils aged 4-16 with a wide range of complex educational and medical needs. Co-op Academy Southfield is an inspiring place to work and learn. It offers an inclusive learning experience for pupils aged 11-19 with a wide range of complex educational and medical needs. The academy is designated for up to 360 pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties, Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.

As our Executive Headteacher, at Co-op Academy Brierley, you will work with the Headteacher to play a key role in shaping, developing and establishing Co-op Academy Brierley as an outstanding place in which to work and learn. This is a truly unique opportunity to be involved in the operational and strategic planning of the academy and in securing high standards that will drive year on year success. At Co-op Academy Southfield, you will promote a culture of excellence by building leadership capacity, providing specialist expertise and highly visible leadership. 

As part of the Co-op Academies Trust, both schools aim to secure excellence in all aspects of provision. They are part of a group of over thirty schools in the Trust, and two of three special schools in West Yorkshire. All schools in the Trust demonstrate a strong commitment to cooperative values and principles. We are co-located in a purpose-built building with Co-op Academy Grange, a mainstream secondary school. Our sixth form provision is housed across Haycliffe Lane on a smaller site. It offers specialist education and training to provide pathways to our students for life after school.
