About The Link Academy
The Link Academy is in Netherton, Dudley, and draws pupils from across central and eastern Dudley as well as neighbouring Sandwell. There are currently over 900 learners on roll. The Trust appointed a new principal to The Link in January 2019. Emma is an ex-pupil of the school and shares the Trust’s determination to restore the reputation for excellence that it once held.
GCSE results have been improving steadily over a number of years, particularly in Mathematics and English and in 2022 the Progress 8 score placed the school as the most improved secondary school in the Dudley borough. The transformation in the performance and culture of The Link Academy was recognised by Ofsted in 2022, when they judged The Link to be a ‘Good’ school, with inspectors commenting that “High ambitions are seen in all aspects of school life and senior leaders do not allow social disadvantage to be a barrier to success”.
