Job overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Female Head of Arabic and Islamic Department to lead our team of educators. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Arabic and Islamic Studies curriculum, ensuring its effective delivery and alignment with American curriculum standards. In this leadership role, you will guide teachers, support student development, and promote the importance of Arabic language and Islamic values within the school community.


Key Responsibilities:


Lead and manage the Arabic and Islamic Studies Department, including curriculum planning, teacher supervision, and professional development.

Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that meets the needs of all students while adhering to American curriculum guidelines.

Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement in Arabic and Islamic Studies.

Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching methods and student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to teachers.

Organize and participate in cultural and religious events, such as Islamic celebrations and Arabic language contests.

Collaborate with school leadership and other departments to integrate Arabic and Islamic Studies across the broader curriculum.

Stay informed about current educational practices and trends in Arabic and Islamic education.

Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Arabic Language, Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field (Master's preferred).

Teaching certification or diploma from an accredited institution.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Strong understanding of the American curriculum and its integration with Arabic and Islamic education.

Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and engage with students from diverse backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:


Experience in curriculum development and instructional leadership.

Proficiency in both Modern Standard Arabic and Classical Arabic.

Familiarity with contemporary issues in Islamic education.
