The Exciting Role 

This role is advertised by NCC Professional Services. Part of Nelson and Colne College Group, NCC Professional Services provides expert business support services to the wider College Group. 

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a looking for a highly motivated and dedicated Finance Administration Officer to join our close-knit Finance team on a full-time, fixed-term basis, working 37 hours per week. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator with excellent organisational and administrative skills. You will be able to accurately analyse and interpret data and provide first line technical reference for others. 

This role will predominantly be based at Accrington and Rossendale College but travel across any of the College campuses may be required. What You Will Be Doing:

  • To be responsible for the accurate disbursement of the various college bursary funds; with the organisation, co-ordination and administration of tasks
  • Monitor and produce the monthly reports on actual bursary spend and projected outturn for the senior leadership team, identifying under/over spend across all bursary funding streams
  • Ensure compliance with Financial Regulations and Procedures
  • Ensure accurate completion of the monthly bursary expenditure reconciliation and timely liaison with the finance team leader / manager to resolve issues
  • Complete regular checks of information stored electronically, in order to ensure the integrity of the data held on college systems and compliance with audit requirements

What We Are Looking For:

  • IT qualification and / or demonstrate IT literacy
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at grade C/4 or above
  • Level 3 Finance relevant qualification or above
  • Experience of working to deadlines and set Financial Regulations
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word; Excel; Outlook and Teams
  • Experience of using data management and reporting tools
  • Experience of numerical reasoning and analysis

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
