An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Manager to join the team at Royal Grammar School, Guildford.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will manage and oversee the financial accounting activities, systems and processes including responsibility for external financial reporting and regulatory returns.

With two direct reports, your responsibilities will include:

  • Statutory accounts and external audit
  • Support production of management accounts, budget and forecast
  • Overseeing the payroll & benefits function
  • Administration of the Bursary programme


We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive, supportive and collaborative relationships across the organisation. Experience of the education sector is not essential, but you will have a positive, flexible and energetic approach to your work.

Located in the historic town of Guildford, the Royal Grammar School, dating back to 1509, is a leading independent day school for boys aged 11 – 18.
