Finance Officer
Grade JE5/6 depending on experience (Salary: £25,794 - £32,063 plus pension and generous benefits package
This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and talented Finance Officer to work as part of a small finance Team to provide day to day operational support for all aspects of the finance operation within the City of London Academy (Southwark).
Working collaboratively with a supportive, professional team, you will process transactions on the Trust accounting system and other systems and software as appropriate, ensuring compliance with the Academies Financial Handbook and all Trust Finance policies and Schemes of Delegation. As the Trust has recently selected PS Financials as its new Trust-wide finance software, you may be required to work from other sites in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe to support the roll-out to our primary schools.
You will hold a degree level qualification in accounting or a related subject, or be studying towards an accounting qualification, as well as having GCSE grade A*-C in English and Mathematics. You will also possess proven experience of working with computerised financial and management information systems, as well as experience of purchase ledger, accounts receivable and associated filing systems. It will be an advantage if you also have experience of working within the Education sector, previous experience of using PS Financials and some experience of using ParentPay and/or other online payment software but not essential.
