Finance Operations Manager – Foundation Office

35 hours per week – All Year Round

Monday to Friday - 8.30am to 4.30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break

We are looking to appoint a Finance Operations Manager to join our Foundation Office. The successful candidate will support the Head of Finance in the provision of a high-quality efficient service for the Foundation and be responsible for day-to-day transactional operations and debt management, leading a knowledgeable team of income and expenditure finance officers.


The Finance Operations Manager will work with the Head of Finance to contribute to the development and streamlining of relevant controls, processes and procedures. This position will help to ensure the continuous improvement and development of the Finance function and its service offering.


The ideal candidate will have undertaken formal accountancy training (AAT, part qualified ACCA, CIMA) or be qualified by experience and have prior experience of debt management processes. Experience of working in a busy finance office is essential as well as providing a premium service to all stakeholders across the Foundation. Excellent communication skills with a calm, professional and personable manner are also required as is the ability to relate to the needs of all staff, parents and pupils within the school environment. You will be computer literate and be confident to work on your own and make decisions and show initiative. You will be able to plan and organise your own work and cope with changing priorities.


Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Staff are all well-qualified and enthusiastic, and have high expectations of themselves and their pupils. We received another outstanding inspection report in May 2023. The school has a strong reputation for pastoral care, and teaching staff are committed to co-curricular activities. Generous fee remission for the children of permanent staff is available at all Foundation schools (from age 3) subject to a minimum number of hours worked.
