Job overview

We are looking to appoint an impressive  Floating Teaching Assistant  in our Lower School for one day a week (Friday) from November 2024 on a one year maternity cover contract

Are you a caring and supportive Teaching Assistant with experience in an Early Years Foundation setting?   Would you like to build on that experience and work as a Floating Teaching Assistant between Reception and Year 2 in a positive and inspiring learning environment? If this is you, we would like to hear from you!

We are a highly successful independent Surrey prep school, providing all-round education and development enabling our pupils to achieve excellent outcomes, in terms of high exam results, entry to fine senior schools, scholarships and awards and, most importantly of all, rounded characters, capability and confidence as young men with the world at their feet.  Set on a private estate near Kingston, you will be close to Richmond Park and the River Thames, yet within short travelling distance into central London.

We pride ourselves on the way in which we educate and support all our boys.  This role will involve you working across a range of classes, groups and years alongside the Classroom Teachers up to Year 2 one day a week on a Friday.   You will be primarily involved in enhancing the learning of pupils, undertaking learning activities and supervising pupils.  Additionally, you will be expected to prepare display materials and teaching aids, assist with the supervision of pupils outside of the classroom, including playgrounds, dining areas or on visits, manage pupil data and undertake other relevant duties.  Outside of normal teaching hours, there will also be opportunities for you to contribute to the wrap-around care programme, helping to increase the confidence of boys and building on important life skills.

If this matches your skills and aspirations, we would like you to join our team as a Floating Teaching Assistant in our Lower School on a one day a week basis. This exciting appointment is available from November 2024 on a one year maternity cover basis.

Our full-time salaries start from £28,172 per annum. Working Fridays, term time only, you will be paid from £4,340 per annum.

We offer excellent training and CPD opportunities, a generous pension scheme, excellent staff lunches and an inclusive and diverse workplace.
