Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join an enthusiastic and dedicated team, we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational teacher of Food and/or Design & Technology. The post could suit an ECT as well as a more experienced candidate and a specialism in either Food/Hospitality would be advantageous but not essential.

We have excellent facilities with a fully equipped food room along with ICT facilities and dedicated theory rooms. The department is supported by one full time technician and the students really value our subjects with an excellent uptake at KS4 and enrichment activities.

We currently offer WJEC Hospitality and Catering. The role would also include teaching with some exciting projects in Keystage 3 D&T. In the Visual Arts faculty we work closely as a team and plan together so our projects are taught consistently, this also helps with workload.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual who:

  • Is innovative, dynamic and inspirational in the classroom

  • Ensures all students succeed and are able to achieve their maximum potential

At Towers, we believe that, with access to a knowledge rich curriculum, unwavering high expectations of conduct and behaviour, an excellent welfare system and the very best teaching, our students can be exceptional.

Why teach at Towers?

At Towers, we believe every child deserves access to high quality teaching and a knowledge rich curriculum. Our rigorous behaviour system ensures teachers have the freedom to teach without disruption and our detentions are run centrally by the Leadership Team. We value teachers’ time and follow a streamlined assessment policy we call Closing the Gap (see our blog) so that teachers can plan responsively to the needs of the students in front of them rather than spending hours marking. We firmly believe that subject knowledge underpins good teaching and therefore support our staff to engage with research and further reading as part of ongoing CPD, renewing, refining and updating their expertise continually.

If you have passion for evidence in education, if you share our uncompromising vision of high expectations and if you believe that every child has the right to be successful, then Towers is the school for you.
