We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Assistant (FSA) to manage and support the front-of-house operations for the catering team. In this vital role, the FSA will ensure that all food service areas are clean, organised and welcoming, whilst delivering high-quality customer service to students, staff and visitors. The role also involves assisting with afternoon event setups and ensuring that events run smoothly and professionally. You will be working closely with the Chef Manager and the kitchen team to ensure seamless operation and a high level of customer satisfaction. This is a key role in supporting the success of the School functions, grab-and-go services and catering events.
Key duties include, but are not limited to:
- General kitchen tasks and duties.
- Adherence to food safety regulations and allergy guidelines.
- Support event catering for functions, including fine dining and summer programmes.
- All legal documentation kept electronically and up to date.
This position is ideal for someone seeking a consistent part-time role that offers a balanced schedule with afternoons free. The term-time nature of the position allows for flexibility during school holidays, making it a great opportunity for someone seeking work-life balance while being part of a dedicated and professional team in a supportive environment.
Hours are: 27.5 hours per week, term time only + 6 weeks (41 weeks), Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 2.30pm.

St Mary’s School is a girls-only, non-selective, Roman Catholic, all-through school with sixth form situated in Cambridge. It is an independent school with day and boarding options.
