We are an experienced department, with 4 teachers offering Food, BTEC Health and Social Care, and Child Development courses and we require a Food Technician to support our team.
The role would be contracted 37 hours per week term time only. Hours are: 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am 3.30pm Friday with a 30 minute break each day. This will be on a Term Time only basis, per academic year.
Grade A+ - Actual Salary £18,984 per annum (£22,366 FTE) Term Time only - 37 Hours per week (pay award 2024 pending)
The Role
Full training will be given.
1. Setting up/ packing away of food ingredients and equipment for practical lessons, maintenance of the food classrooms and storage areas, stock control/rotation
2. To regularly assist all faculty teaching staff in their classroom duties – at the beginning and end of food practical, to provide ingredients and equipment and at the end to assist the teacher on cleaning / checking the room - as deployed by the Line Manager
3. Ordering of resources and liaising with relevant companies – e.g food ingredients, equipment, stationery
4. General housekeeping for food and textiles preparation rooms including: photographing, and printing students work
5. To carry out First Aid on a rota system (training provided)
6. Consider the Health and Safety aspects when working and remain trained in all relevant H&S qualifications for the role
The Candidate
Relevant experience is desirable but not essential, and training will be given.
The successful candidate will be efficient and organised, with the flexibility to respond to changing priorities.
