Rosemead Preparatory School and Nursery is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We have a number of policies and procedures in place that contribute to our safeguarding commitment, including our Child Safeguarding Policy which can be viewed in the Policies section of our website. Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare. We actively support the Government’s Prevent Agenda to counter radicalism and extremism.

About Rosemead Preparatory School

About Rosemead Preparatory School

At Rosemead, we're more than just a school; we're a nurturing community where passionate staff shape the minds of young learners. Our motto, Inspiring Brilliant Futures, encapsulates how we are a forward thinking, ambitious, co-ed school that delivers a high quality values based education. We believe in empowering teachers to provide a holistic educational experience that goes beyond the classroom.

We strive to provide a balanced curriculum that nurtures the holistic development of each child. While academic achievement is important, we firmly believe that education should encompass much more than just exams and grades. Our approach is centered around ensuring that your child receives a well-rounded education that includes a strong emphasis on Music, Art, Drama, and Sport, without compromising on academic excellence.

It brings us immense pride to share that our Year 6 children consistently achieve excellent results in the 11+ exams, opening doors to some of the top secondary schools. It is important to note that Rosemead prides itself on finding the school that is right for the child. However, this success does not come at the expense of our rich arts and sports programmes.

Every year, we witness the artistic talents of our children as they win National Art Awards and perform in breathtaking productions. Moreover, our sporting achievements are equally commendable, with several students qualifying and competing at the National Athletics competition in Birmingham this year.

Our curriculum is designed to be creative and engaging, with each year group exploring topics that serve as the focal point of their learning. We encourage cross-curricular connections, where subjects are linked to a central theme, often supported by a captivating novel. This approach not only enhances their understanding but also fosters a love for learning that goes beyond the confines of the classroom.

We take pride in being a co-educational institution, recognising the immense value of a diverse learning environment. We believe that all children benefit from learning together, developing vital social skills and building strong, respectful relationships that will serve them well in their future endeavours. The world is a co-educational environment and we believe that school should be too.

St Dunstan’s Education Group

Rosemead prep School merged with St Dunstan’s Education Group in 2023, presenting new opportunities for staff and pupils.

St Dunstan’s Education Group is a growing group of coeducational schools serving approximately 1500 children aged 2 – 18 based in the vibrancy and diversity of south-east London. Remaining true to the founding principle of St Dunstan’s College that the school should be ‘ahead of the current time’, St Dunstan’s today is known to offer an ambitious and forward-thinking education that trailblazes in the Sector by thinking differently about how young people are educated for an uncertain future.

St Dunstan’s is a thriving educational community. St Dunstan’s College was named Coeducational School of the Year in 2020, Senior School of the Year 2022 and Most Progressive School in London in 2023. In the summer of 2024, it was one of the 50 best performing independent schools in the UK for our A Level and GCSE results and was in the top 100 schools in the UK as listed in the Times Parent Power league table. In 2023 Rosemead became one of the first prep schools in the UK to receive a significant strength from the Independent Schools Inspectorate and later that year St Dunstan’s College became the one of the very first schools to receive two significant strengths for its role in EEDI and the progressive nature of the curriculum. In 2024, Rosemead won the prestigious ISA award for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.

The diversity of our south-east London location is perhaps our biggest asset, allowing us to cultivate an environment that nurtures individuality. As one of the most socio-economically and culturally diverse areas in the UK, ours is a group of schools that actively shuns entitlement and arrogance and rather develops well-rounded, grounded young men and women who have the soft skills to thrive in tomorrow’s world.
