The Lyceum Alpinum Zuoz is an international boarding school with a history stretching back over 120 years, located near St. Moritz in the heart of the scenic Engadin Valley (Switzerland). 220 boarders from around the world and 110 local day students study at our school for the Swiss Matura, the iGCSE, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP), and the International Career-Related Programme (IBCP). We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and caring person (female/male) to join as a
Graduate Assistant, Boarding and Outdoor Activities
Start date:
School year 2023-24 - as soon as available
School year 2024-25 – From August 2024.
Workload: 100% - includes evening and weekend work, as required.
The position will suit candidates who enjoy the challenge of working with bright and inquisitive international students, aged 13 – 19 (grades 7 to 12).
Responsibilities:
- Assistance with the preparation and running of activities and trips offered by the boarding department at the evenings and weekends.
- Contribution to the weekly extracurricular activity program.
- Promote the development of the boarder's talents and interests and provide a range of experiences to promote cultural, sporting, and personal development.
- Supervision in boarding houses alongside the houseparents.
- Working as part of a team to ensure the safety and well-being of the students in the house, creating a safe, well-ordered, and friendly environment.
- Contribution to supervision and academic support during evening study time.
Requirements:
- Educated to a minimum degree level.
- Leadership and teamwork skills along with a strong sense of responsibility
- Experience working with groups of young people
- Basic qualifications in one or more outdoor activities and/or sports.
- Coaching and/or pastoral experience desirable
- Driving licence preferred but not essential
- Bilingual or multilingual skills an advantage.
- High level of social competence and empathy
- EU/EFTA or Swiss citizenship
