OVERVIEW
We are looking for a Graphic Designer and Social Media Specialist who will work within the Marketing team as a critical individual for the overall development of the school and its brand.
Graphic Design: This role will be responsible for designing, refining, and implementing all digital marketing/social media assets and print materials, as well as enhancing existing branding and related materials. Graphics should be compelling and convey the ethos of the school’s brand.
Social Media: This role will be responsible for creating and administering content on all social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In and Google My Business. The overall aim is to build an audience and ensure customer engagement. The specialist will oversee creative design, monitor site metrics, and develop regular reports as required.
The successful candidate must have a creative flair and a strong ability to translate requirements into design. They must be able to communicate well and work methodically as part of a team.
All activities will be performed under the guidance and instruction of the Head of Marketing and PR to increase brand awareness, lead generation, fans and followers, social media engagement and interaction.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
For Graphic Design, the role will encompass the entire process of defining requirements, visualising and creating graphics including illustrations, logos, layouts and photos. Core responsibilities will include:
- Study design briefs and determine requirements
- Conceptualise visuals based on requirements
- Develop artwork, imagery, illustrations, logos, layouts, and other designs in line with brand standards
- Prepare rough drafts, present ideas, and amend designs following feedback
- Test graphics across various media
- Participate in strategic and creative concept development for all collateral
- Maintain quality control throughout the production of assigned projects
- Manage photography and videography requirements for marketing activities such as social media, website, and digital and print collateral
- Take photographs, edit, and retouch images
For Social Media, the core role as a social media specialist is to support the Marketing team and educators in promoting the school’s activities and initiatives and working proactively to meet deadlines. Core responsibilities include:
- Management of social media channels
- Producing engaging content for all channels, increasing fans and followers and interactions
- Structuring daily posts to target the right people at the right time
- Delivering on targets set including website referrals, customer retention, online reputation
- Keeping up to date with Social Media trends and adapting posts accordingly
- Support the development of marketing strategies and calendars to help drive traffic and engagement
- Assist with the general day to day administrative tasks
- Producing a consistent brand message across all the social media channels
- Regularly monitoring competitor social media sites and creating an analysis report
- Creating and promoting the school’s blogs every week
- Working with other departments and heads of schools to develop social media timelines that coincide with departmental and school activities, ad campaigns, and other brand messages
- Coordinating social media messages with advertising departments, the brand management team, and annual company goals
- Monitoring and preparing performance reports to showcase progress and make recommendations for future improvements
- Responding to any mentions over social media platforms and engage with the social media users

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
- Education to at least degree level
- Proven graphic design experience supported by a portfolio of illustrations or other graphics
- Hands-on experience with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Premiere, Photoshop)
- 3+ years of experience working within marketing, communications, branding, multimedia, or other related fields
- Fluency (both written and oral) in English. Arabic is a significant advantage.
