Job overview
For September 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter)
Dauntsey’s is one of the most successful and exciting secondary schools in the country. Set in an estate of over 100 acres, in glorious Wiltshire countryside, the school offers first-class education and facilities to its 860 pupils.
Current Head, Mr Mark Lascelles, arrived at the school in 2012, and over the course of his tenure Dauntsey's has gone from strength-to-strength. As he moves to take on the Headship at Epsom College in September 2024, the school is looking for its next leader who can build on this momentum and take Dauntsey's forward into its next chapter.
The Governors are looking for a dynamic, imaginative, energetic and forward-looking Head. First class communication skills and flexibility to adapt to a fast-changing educational landscape will be crucial. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with the ability to inspire and enthuse, to be both sensitive and firm in direction and to be a leader with business acumen and stamina.
At Dauntsey’s, the ultimate priority is the happiness and fulfilment of everyone in the community. It is a school where people can be themselves, where friendship and kindness really matter and where pupils make the most of their talents and abilities. Adventure plays an important role in a Dauntsey's education, ensuring that pupils learn life lessons and skills that will help them both in and out of the classroom, and will position them well for life beyond school.
This is a tremendous opportunity for a new leader to guide the school through the next stage of its development.
Closing date for applications: Tuesday 19 December by 10am.
