The Head of Arabic and Islamic Department will lead and manage the Arabic and Islamic Studies curriculum and staff, ensuring the highest standards of teaching and learning. This role involves overseeing the development and implementation of educational programs, supporting the professional growth of staff, and fostering a positive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Lead and manage the Arabic and Islamic Studies Department, including staff supervision, curriculum development, and implementation.
  • Provide strategic direction and support to ensure the department meets its educational objectives.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to department staff.
  • Curriculum and Instruction:
  • Develop, review, and enhance the Arabic and Islamic Studies curriculum in line with national and international standards.
  • Ensure that the curriculum is engaging, inclusive, and meets the diverse needs of students.
  • Monitor and evaluate teaching practices to ensure high standards of instruction.
  • Professional Development:
  • Identify and address professional development needs for department staff.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions and workshops to enhance teaching practices.
  • Student Support:
  • Implement strategies to support student achievement and address learning challenges.
  • Work with students, parents, and staff to ensure that students receive appropriate support and guidance.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Manage departmental budgets, resources, and schedules.
  • Prepare and submit reports and documentation as required.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate Arabic and Islamic Studies into the broader curriculum.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and the school community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in teaching Arabic and Islamic Studies, with a strong understanding of curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders.
