About the School:

Due to the continued growth of The Royal Grammar School Guildford, Qatar (RGSGQ) we seek to appoint an outstanding Head of Arabic Teacher for Secondary/Primary to join one of the most prestigious British International schools in the Middle East.

The RGS Guildford Qatar has developed a strong partnership with RGS Guildford in the UK a prestigious UK independent school with a tradition and rich history for providing outstanding education. We also have strong links with our international sister schools throughout the world.

The RGS Guildford, Qatar is an all-through British school offering a co-educational British curriculum for children aged 3 to 18. The school opened in September 2016 and now welcomes over 785 students to its campus which is just 20 minutes from the Pearl and the new Lusail city. Students follow the English Early Years Foundation Stage, the National Curriculum at Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and at Key Stage 4 a comprehensive range of IGCSE courses. At Post-16 the school offers a range of AS levels. The school has a reputation for high quality teaching and learning and has a range of excellent sports facilities which include an astro turf, sports hall and an open-air swimming pool.

About Role:

1.          Curriculum Development and Implementation:

              •            Oversee the development and delivery of the Arabic curriculum in alignment with British Curriculum standards.

              •            Deliver high-quality Arabic instruction at GCSE / A-Level standards.

              •            Ensure effective lesson planning, teaching strategies, and student assessment.

              2.          Leadership and Team Management:

              •            Lead, mentor, and support the Arabic teaching staff.

              •            Develop comprehensive plans for professional development and training to improve teaching quality.

              3.          Compliance with Ministry of Education (MOE) Requirements:

              •            Maintain full compliance with the procedures and requirements of the Ministry of Education.

              •            Ensure all documentation, curriculum plans, and reporting meet MOE standards.

              •            Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to meet ministry requirements efficiently.

              4.          Quality Assurance:

              •            Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning.

              •            Analyze student performance and develop strategies for improvement.

              5.          Cultural and Religious Instruction:

              •            Promote an appreciation for the Arabic language, culture, and heritage within the school community.

              •            Teach Islamic Studies effectively, ensuring alignment with cultural and religious standards.

              6.          Administrative Responsibilities:

              •            Prepare reports and updates related to the Arabic Department.

              •            Contribute to the school’s policies, goals, and overall vision.

Successful applicants must have:  

· A specialized bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language, Education, or a related field.

· A minimum up to 5 years of experience as Head of Arabic Department or a similar leadership role.

· Proven experience as Head of Arabic Department or a similar leadership role

· Proven ability to teach Arabic at GCSE and A-Level

· Fully aware of Ministry of Education procedures and requirements and able to ensure compliance

· Experience in developing and implementing teacher development plans.

· Qualified and experienced in teaching Islamic Studies

· Strong knowledge of teaching Arabic in British International Schools.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

· Proficiency in innovative teaching methods to improve student outcomes


Additionally, the candidate must be fully aware of the procedures and requirements of the Ministry of Education, demonstrate the ability to comply with ministry regulations, and develop plans to enhance teacher performance. The candidate must also be qualified to teach Islamic Studies.
