Head of Boarding

Adcote Matrix International School (AMIS) is an established international school, located in Seremban, Malaysia. The school is approximately 45 minutes away from the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. We offer a broad and innovative curriculum from Early Years and Primary Cambridge International Curriculum and IPC, Secondary Cambridge curriculum, IGCSE and A Level based on a combination of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), Cambridge International Curriculum and the National Curriculum for England and Wales.

Head of Person Specification

The ideal candidate will have recent and significant experience in a leading role in a Boarding school in the UK and internationally and with the personal and interpersonal skills and passion for promoting a warm and caring environment to meet the individual needs or our boarders and possess the following key qualities:

• strong work ethic and professionalism.
• high expectation and maintain compliance
• Patience and understanding of the social and emotional needs of students
• excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Approachable and able to sensitive matters

Education Requirements:

• B.Ed or degree and post graduate teaching qualification
• Prior training or experience in a school environment.

Role of the Head of Boarding

The Head of Boarding reports to the Head of International School. The Head of Boarding manages the House Parents who have duty of care for the students. The Head of Boarding will coordinate a programme of activities to enrich their experience at our boarders

The House Head is required to reside at the School in accommodation provided by the School. This role will ensure that the boarding house environment is well organised, orderly and presents in a warm and professional manner. The Head of Boarding will support student including management of staff and care of students in their House.We are seeking professionals who have :

• Strong work ethic and professionalism.
• Patience and a strong understanding of children’s psychology.
• Good communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Prior work experience within the childcare sector.
• The ability to maintain sensitive matters of the child in confidence.
• Problem-solving skills.

Education Requirements:

• B.Ed or .
• Prior training or experience in the same domain.
