Tolworth Girls' School & Sixth Form is an Outstanding and World Class School with high expectations, encouraging our students to be aspirational with their learning and to enjoy all aspects of school life. We are looking to appoint a collaborative and inspirational subject leader of Chemistry, to join our highly effective Faculty, from September 2025.
12 dedicated labs and 2 prep rooms, house our team of specialist Science Teachers and Technicians, in a school where students are motivated and thrive in a culture of achievement and success. Students across all Key Stages are given multiple opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom to develop a love of science. In Key Stage 4 and 5, students are invited to take part in Science Olympiads; at Key Stage 3 a successful Harry Potter Club runs weekly; and throughout the years, for all students, various activities actively promoting women in science and give students the opportunity to hear from exciting and engaging guest speakers. We regularly welcome an Urban Farm into school and each year students nurture and hatch their very own Chicks. We are the home of innovative opportunities for students, extending their learning across all areas of science. Recently our science students have had a visit from a fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society who has worked with and written books with Tim Peake.
This post offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and hardworking teacher looking to grow with and develop a highly successful department. We are seeking to appoint an inspirational professional who has a real love for their subject, and the drive to use creative approaches in their teaching and mentoring across all key stages. The post holder will work collaboratively with the Head of Biology, Head of Physics and Director of Science. Our ideal candidate will be keen to take an active role in the wider school community, embracing every opportunity to promote Science.
This post is full-time permanent, from 1 September 2025.
