Head of Education
£99,104 (fixed point)
Having experience of working successfully at a senior level within education, you will be a strong pro-active leader who is able to deliver transformational change. You will know how to deliver good quality, innovative and ambitious education and learning services for our young people and will have the skills to ensure this is delivered effectively, through our schools and early learning establishments.
You will be a team player who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues within all of our establishments, and across all Council services, delivering on our priorities. You will have the relevant professional knowledge and skills to ensure our services support the educational, social and emotional needs of our young people. You will be able to deliver at pace, with energy, have excellent management skills and bring creative solutions to the challenges we face.
We are building a new team to lead our Education service. Being part of our new management team, you will have a real opportunity to influence the future direction of our Education service for the Falkirk area. This will include the functional split across the teams which will be reviewed once the Director of Education is appointed. Candidates will have the opportunity to support the design of the new structure and have an impact on how we deliver our Education service. Candidates should therefore have experience of a range of the functional areas required.
Our focus as a Council is to work with our communities to transform, grow, invest in our area and innovate, whilst responding pro-actively to our budgetary challenges. Education has a key role within this, ensuring our young people have the skills to succeed in life and be part of our successful Council area.
Just a 30 minute drive from Edinburgh and Glasgow, Falkirk is ideally situated in the very heart of Scotland. As an employer of choice, we offer flexible working arrangements and benefits, along with a culture which is committed to learning, improving and growing. If you feel you can deliver for us, we’d love to hear from you.
