Truro High School is seeking to appoint an innovative and dynamic Head of Faculty for STEM from September 2025 and is open to applicants with the requisite qualities and desire to lead an experienced and talented faculty staff. The faculty covers the academic subjects of science, mathematics, psychology, food & nutrition, computing and astronomy, all of which are popular, thriving subjects and achieve strong results in public examinations. There is an extensive extra-curricular programme within the faculty and the successful candidate will be required to build on this programme and develop it further.
The Head of Faculty is expected to teach 80% of a timetable and to be a form tutor if required.
The successful candidate will:
· Have excellent relationships with students and a belief in a High Performance Learning approach to teaching and learning.
· Be an outstanding and committed practitioner, innovative in their methods, able to enthuse students.
· Be keen to work collaboratively with colleagues to support the development of teaching and learning within the faculty.
· Eager to play a full part in whole school life including extra-curricular activities, school trips and after school clubs.

Truro High School is an award-winning independent girls’ school with around 400 pupils from the ages of 3-18, serving the local community in Truro, Cornwall, and well beyond. It takes pupils on a day, boarding or flexi-boarding basis, and runs a prep School, senior school and sixth form all on the same site.
Truro High School was founded in 1880 by Bishop Benson of Truro, moving to its current premises close to the centre of Truro in 1896.
