Join their dynamic team where leadership is a cornerstone of their department's success. The Head of Department, backed by a second-in-command, leads their team with a focus on cohesive decision-making and creating an atmosphere of collaboration and support. As a member of their team, you will benefit from the mentorship and direction provided by their experienced leaders, empowering you to thrice and contribute to their collective achievements.

At the Academy, their close-knit Geography department is more than just colleagues; they're a family of educators at different career stages, from ECT to UPS. This diverse blend ensures their curriculum benefits from a wealth of experience and fresh perspectives, fostering a collaborative environment where every team member thrives. They invest in continuous professional development, empowering each member to excel.

They are a high achieving and highly regarded department within the Academy and is conveniently located at the heart of the school. The classrooms, in close proximity, foster mutual support and emphasise the importance of geography for their students. The Geography area is rich in resources, constantly evolving to provide an engaging experience for their students. Also their large classrooms boast state-of-the-art smartboards, enhancing the learning experience for all.

Their vision is to put students first in order to raise standards and transform lives. To make this happen, they innovate constantly, including a curriculum that is designed to enable personalised learning in depth and with breadth. In Geography, their students embark on a comprehensive three-year Key Stage 3 journey. Beginning with one hour per week in Year 7, it expands to two hours in Year 8 and Year 9. Their robust geography curriculum revolves around core concepts: sustainability, human and physical interactions, physical processes, climate change, and development. They design their topics to exceed the National Curriculum standards, exploring local, national, and international levels. This foundation not only prepares students for their highly popular GCSE and A Level courses, following the AQA syllabus, but also equips them for life beyond the academy.

The Academy is seeking passionate individuals who are dedicated to providing a dynamic learning experience for their students. As part of their commitment to holistic education, they offer a wide range of enrichment opportunities and organise various field trips to enhance their educational journey. As a member of their team, you will have the chance to engage students in hands-on learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom, fostering a love for exploration and discovery. If you are enthusiastic about creating memorable learning experiences and igniting curiosity in young learners, they want to hear from you.

With a holistic view of education, they value vocational, practical, creative and academic talent equally and focus on building transferable skills that result in real-world success. By empowering students to take ownership of their learning, they can create tomorrow’s leaders as well as responsible, caring and engaging citizens. Join them in shaping young minds, fostering a passion for learning and exploring the wonders of the world together.
