Elmhurst is the oldest primary school in Croydon having been established in 1869.

Our aim is to inspire a genuine enthusiasm for learning, to develop children who believe in themselves, who are well-prepared academically and socially, for the next stage in their education and well-equipped with life skills for their future success. In addition we would be happy to welcome you to come and visit us in session, as we believe it is our students themselves, who convey the school’s ethos more than any printed words ever will.

'There never seems a dull moment for the children, as there's always something going on at Elmhurst; whether it's sports, theatre, music, after school activities or fund raising with a fun theme. This is a testament to the enthusiasm of the staff, who seem to enjoy being at Elmhurst as much as the children!'– Elmhurst Parent
