Looking for a new challenge in education? AET is on a mission to unlock the potential of every child and young person in England, and we need an exceptional Head of Leadership Development to help us achieve our goals.

As part of our network of 57 excellent schools, you will play a key role in shaping the future of education in our country. Working with the Talent and Education teams, you will develop and train the next generation of talented school and system leaders, building AET’s reputation as a leader in the field.

If you have a passion for leadership development and talent management, and a track record of success in education leadership roles, we want to hear from you. You will be responsible for creating and embedding exciting new approaches to development and talent management for our leaders, as well as developing an executive coaching faculty across our network.

You will also work with leading national organisations to realise the potential of new NPQs and build teams of leaders who can genuinely collaborate and drive network strategy through our network groups.

As our Head of Leadership Development, you will have the opportunity to engage in research and contribute to improving educational leadership standards across the sector, not just within our network. You will be supported by our new open source engagement platform, Project H, which will enable us to share our learning nationally and internationally.

At AET, we believe that excellent teaching is the centrepiece of our strategy, and that empowering our teachers to do their best work requires the best leadership they’ve ever had. By building and shaping our leader development community and capability, you will enable all of our leaders to have the greatest possible impact on the classroom.

Join us in driving radical change in one of the largest educational organisations in the country. Put developing talented people at the centre of everything our Trust does, so that every single one of AET’s children receives a truly excellent education. Apply now to become our Head of Leadership Development and help us build a brighter future for our children and young people.

AET was established in 2008 and is now a national network of 57 primary, secondary and special academies. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive network of schools which span nearly every region in the country.

This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the organisation, and as we pivot from being in turnaround mode to becoming a high performance organisation on the pathway to sustainable excellence. This will see us building our in-house education improvement capacity and expertise, making sure that our schools have all the support they need to deliver an excellent education for every child, every day.

Our people are our single greatest resource and we want to make sure we are creating the optimum environment and conditions so that everyone in AET can do their very best work. We will only deliver on our promise of excellence for all of our children if we attract, develop and retain the very best talent in the country and surround them with exceptional development throughout their careers.

We want people on our team who are excited by scale and the prospect of having a deep and lasting impact on the lives of tens of thousands of children. We also want people who are intellectually rigorous, stay curious, and generous enough to be committed to the messy challenge of collaboration.

AET has an exciting future ahead and by joining us on this journey, you will have an unparalleled opportunity to make a lasting and meaningful impact on the children and young people in our schools.
