Tenby International School Setia EcoHill is one of the newer schools in the Tenby family and is set in a wonderful 14-acre campus with outstanding facilities. Key Responsibilities

·      The Head of Mathematics is responsible for improving the quality of the learning and teaching of Mathematics throughout the department. The post holder will be responsible for managing all activities relating to the specialism.

·      taking responsibility for the progress of the department

·      organizing the classroom and learning resources and creating displays to encourage a positive learning environment

·      planning, preparing, and presenting lessons that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within their class

·      motivating pupils with enthusiastic, imaginative lessons

·      maintaining discipline

·      preparing and marking work to facilitate positive pupil development

·      train staff in the Department in areas requiring further development

·      develop a culture of lesson visits

·      use data to track student progress across the Department

·      conduct appraisals for teachers in the Department

·      manage the budget for the Department

·      meeting requirements for the assessment and recording of pupils' development

·      providing feedback to parents and careers on a pupil's progress at parents' evenings and other meetings

·      coordinating activities and resources within a specific area of the curriculum, and supporting colleagues in the delivery of this specialist area

·      working with others to plan and coordinate work

·      plan and run a weekly CCA

·      become involved in organizing at least one whole school event


Skills, Qualifications and Experience

·      Appropriate degree and teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Bachelor of Education)

·      At least two to three year's relevant teaching experience

·      At least two to three year’s relevant head of department role.

·      A passion for teaching and a belief in the education of the 'whole child'

·      High levels of professionalism and care for children

·      Excellent oral and written English

·      Have excellent subject knowledge of the English National Curriculum and IPC

·      Have excellent classroom practice

Tenby International School – Setia Echohill is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational, independent, all-through school with sixth form, in Malaysia, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school is situated in Semenyih, Selangor. It belongs to the Tenby Schools Group, an expanding group of six international and Malaysian private schools across the country.

Tenby International School – Setia Echohill is the latest of the six schools, having opened in 2016. The building offers facilities including tennis courts, football fields, a swimming pool, art rooms, music rooms, a café and computer suites. Students are taught from a British inspired curriculum and  go on to study towards IGCSE exams and International A levels.
