The VISS Group of Schools is seeking a Head of Middle School to join our leadership team at the VISS Al Tawuun campus. 

VISS is Australian curriculum school partnering with the government of Sharjah, under the direction of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi and in collaboration with the Victorian government in Australia, 

The Head of Middle School will be responsible for the management of the academic programs, student well-being and overall operations of the Middle school, they will work directly with the Headsof Junior and Senior school, the Executive Principal, and the Director of Schools on the overall strategic direction of the school.

The Head of Middle school will work as part of the Al Tawuun campus SLT and wider Executive leadership of the VISS Group with the overall strategic direction of the school.

The Head of Middle School plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management of the academic programs, student well-being, setting budgets, hiring staff, and overall day-to-day operations within the VISS Al Tawuun campus.

The Head of Middle school will be an active member of the Executive leadership team and will work directly with the Head of Junior School (Pre-Kg to Grade 5), Head of Senior School (Grades 10-12), the Executive Principal, and the Director of Schools on the overall strategic direction of the school.

From August 2023, Victoria International School of Sharjah - Al Tawuun will transition from the existing Secondary School Grade 7-12 structure to:

  • Grades Pre-Kg to Grade 5: Junior School
  • Grades 6-9: Middle School
  • Grades 10-12 Senior School


In the transitional phase, the Head of Middle school work with a team to lead and manage the change and implementation of the new structure within the school, working closely with all stakeholders, including leadership, staff, students, and parents.

The school operates on a 4-Day work week (Monday to Thursday)

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Educational qualification required- Bachelor’s degree minimum, Masters preferred
  • Experience in a senior educational leader – Head of School, Deputy Principal, etc.
  • Current registration with an education body preferred (ie VIT, QTS etc)
  • Management experience essential
  • Australian or IB curriculum an advantage

Victoria International School of Sharjah is a mainstream, all-through, independent, international school for children ages 3-18. It has 5 campuses situated in Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates with a staffing profile of 550

The original flagship school teaches the Victorian version of the Australian curriculum. It opened in 2007 on a purpose-built site on the border of Dubai and Sharjah. we currently have 3 regional campuses located on Kalba, Khorfakkan and Melihea

As an all-though school the education is divided in to three stages; early learning, primary, and secondary. In the final two years it will be International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.
