Job overview

The Executive Headteacher and Governing Body at Thomas Arnold would like to appoint a Head of School. We are a 2 form entry school, with a 30-place Autism additional resource provision.

We are looking for an effective, strong and inspirational leader who can:

·        lead, motivate and inspire colleagues to achieve excellence and raise standards

·        show commitment to continuous school improvement

·        work with SLT to develop a strategic view for Thomas Arnold and plan for future needs and further development of the school

·        ensure that the management, organisation and administration of the school supports the vision and aims of the school

·        monitor, evaluate and review the effect of policies, priorities and targets of the school.

·        can build excellent relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues

  • have a clear knowledge and understanding of the principles of child development and learning processes within primary education
  • demonstrate good communication skills both orally and written, and to be able to seek to make learning a positive experience
