Capability Scotland is seeking a Head of School for Stanmore School, a Grant-Aided Residential Special School in Lanark. We have a roll of 18 pupils who have a range of additional support needs.
In addition to our teaching staff, the school has dedicated care, allied health and nursing professionals to support and assist with the removal of barriers to their learning. There is also a registered Service Manager who has responsibility for managing the onsite care and support services.
As the senior manager onsite, the Head of School is responsible for all aspects of the school; support from corporate services is available with regards HR, Finance, and Facilities.
Our ideal candidate will currently hold either a Depute Head Teacher role or be an ambitious and experienced Principal Teacher; candidates need to be driven by excellence and focused on the achievement of learning outcomes for the pupils.
Experience of our sector is key as is a thorough understanding of educational frameworks and experiential learning. A record of managing change and delivering improvement is highly desirable as is the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
