Head of Secondary Art
Kings’ School Al Barsha is seeking an exceptional and passionate Head of Secondary Art to lead and inspire our dynamic art department from January 2025. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of fostering creativity and critical thinking through engaging art education, while driving academic achievement across KS3 to KS5.
Requirements and Experience:
Essential:
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree relevant to the teaching Subject or equivalent
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Strong subject knowledge and sheer enthusiasm for the subject that you are ready to share with our students
- Experience of teaching GCSE and A Level
- Lead the Secondary Art department, developing and implementing an innovative curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners.
- Inspire and motivate students to express their creativity through various artistic mediums, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
- Mentor and support the professional development of art teachers within the department.
- Promote art and creativity across the school community, organizing exhibitions, events, and competitions.
- Ensure excellent progress and outcomes for all students in Art, including preparing students for GCSE and A-Level Art examinations.
- Manage department resources, including budgets, equipment, and materials.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to contribute to the broader school vision and goals.
- A minimum of 5 years experience,
- Able to teach consistently inspirational lessons and a track record of delivering outstanding results
- A highly collaborative nature and strong communication skills
- Evidence of commitment to recent professional development relevant to this role
- Ideas that will help to further the high profile of the department within the school
- ICT skills that reflect the impact of technology in today’s classrooms
- A commitment to the extra-curricular programme
- Commitment to the well-being and pastoral care of all students within their care
- Innovative, creative and positive mindset
Desirable:
- Experience of working overseas or with international students
