Trinity Academy is a highly oversubscribed free school that opened in 2019. We are a values based community that focuses on the learning of all students and staff, that cares deeply for our young people and each other and that is committed to co-curricular enrichment.

We are highly ambitious for our community, our stated goal is to be a +1 school for progress at KS4. Our first cohort of students are now preparing for post 16 education and we are excited to be opening our new Sixth Form in September 2024 for them and for students from many other schools across Bristol.

This then is a unique opportunity to create, establish and lead a new Sixth Form and as such, we are looking for a highly motivated, professional and well qualified teacher and leader to join us in our mission.

You will also be joining an incredibly able and committed Senior Leadership Team as an Associate member with the opportunity to develop this role as the Sixth Form grows. We are committed to your professional development, as both a teacher and leader. As a growing school there is considerable opportunity for career development both within the school and across the Cathedral Schools Trust.

Applications are welcome from experienced teachers who ideally have experience of leadership within a post 16 setting.

If you would like to find out more about the school including FAQs, please visit the website at: www.trinityacademybristol.org.

Please read on for further details about the role including the job description and person specification.

Please note that we will only consider applications through TES and will not consider CVs so ensure that your supporting statement on the application meets the requirements of the person specification. We encourage you to be succinct and to restrict your supporting statement to no more than four pages in length.

Closing date: 21/01/2024

Interviews: 01/02/2024

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The School may carry out online searches on shortlisted applicants and all applicants will be required to provide details of their online profile, including social media account names/handless, as part of the interview process.

The safeguarding responsibilities of the post include:

  • Ensure that the safeguarding of all students, particularly 6th Form students is a priority.
  • Work with the DSL and safeguarding lead to ensure that all processes and procedures for Trinity 6th Form ensure the safeguarding of all students.
  • Be alert to the specific safeguarding needs of students and contribute to safety plans as appropriate.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions on a self-declaration form in advance of attending an interview (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.

If you have not heard from us by the interview date, unfortunately you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
