Job overview

Are you an experienced and inspirational teacher of Art? Are you the kind of educator who gets the best out of students and staff? We are looking to recruit a founding Head of Visual Arts to create an outstanding Art Department.

Opening in August 2025, Shrewsbury International School India will be a boarding school for children from age 11 to 18. The school will deliver the British Curriculum within the whole person education for which Shrewsbury is famed. We expect Art to be a favoured academic subject and art related activities to be very popular within our co and extra-curricular program. Art and the Art department will also play a crucial role in crafting our identity as an institution that combines the best of British and Indian education.

Located in Madhya Pradesh, at the very heart of India, the school’s 150-acre campus will have exceptional state of the art facilities for the teaching and learning. This role offers a rare opportunity to be part of bringing an extraordinary campus to life.

The school is sponsored by Jagran Social Welfare Society (JSWS), a well-established and successful education provider based in Madhya Pradesh. JSWS already has 13 successful institutions within its portfolio, many of which it has built from the ground up.

In addition to an attractive salary, the school’s Heads of Department will be provided with well-appointed accommodation, medical insurance, and an annual travel allowance. Full tuition fee remission at the school for up to two of their children is also offered. If the appointee’s children are not of an age to join Shrewsbury, full tuition fee remission will be offered at one of the local sister schools within JSWS.

To apply complete the TES application form by no later than 0900 (UK) on Wednesday 23rd October 2024.

Initial interviews will be online in w/c 18th November 2024.
