Job overview

Dulwich College (Singapore) is seeking talented and inspiring candidates for Head of Year and Assistant Head of Year roles for an August 2025 start.

Junior School Heads of Year and Assistant Heads of Year are accomplished educators who lead a team of ten class teachers across a year group, ensuring every child can thrive pastorally and academically. The post holders will work closely with the Junior School Leadership Team to set the tone and culture for the year group, while ensuring their own classroom and teaching practice is exemplary.

Students come first is our guiding pillar. The right candidates will be highly committed team players with the drive, energy and passion to help develop this forward-looking school. They will be internationally minded and excited to work with a culturally diverse range of colleagues and children. Applicants must be willing to lead by example and play a full part in the College’s pastoral care and extra-curricular programme.

Junior School teachers have high expectations of themselves and learners. They are reflective and strive for continual improvement. They value knowing each child as an individual and create a safe space for learning. They believe in personalising learning and that all children have the right to make progress from their individual starting points; teachers identify the needs of children and provide support and challenge as appropriate.

Our teachers understand the importance of a solid platform of core skills and content, and see this as a springboard to teaching broader concepts, through an inquiry approach to learning. To support this, every student has access to a device. Our curriculum and timetable value a breadth of disciplines that includes traditionally academic subjects as well as STEM, sports and visual and performing arts. Teachers are supported to develop areas of expertise within this model.

Above all, our teachers strive to develop a love for learning in every child.

Safeguarding

Our College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our care. We follow safe recruitment practices and appointments are subject to vetting including reference checks, and identity and criminal record checks.
