Hours: Full time (37.5hrs)
We are looking to appoint a positive, dynamic and resilient Head of Year and Teacher of Science to take a strategic lead in maintaining high standards and aspirations. You will be responsible for the organisation and operation of a Year group, supporting their learning and progress and addressing barriers to learning so that students can achieve their full potential. You will be a well-qualified and a highly motivated individual who is enthusiastic and committed to delivering success.
You will have the ability and enthusiasm to
- Raise standards of student attainment and achievement
- Set standards and develop a positive ethos within the year team and year group
- Develop and embed an ethos of high expectations, exceptional attitudes to learning and exemplary conduct
- Provide effective leadership and management of a team of Tutors and an Assistant Head of Year
- Build positive working relationships with parents/carers/outside agencies to ensure that expectations are clear, and students are supported and held accountable
- Teach high quality Science lessons so that all students make good progress
As an important middle leader, you will also take on a whole school role in promoting your year group, advocating your students and be someone who embodies our values and acts as a positive role model around the school.
