The Deputy Head is responsible for delivering the highest standard of education and pastoral care in Secondary. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, he/she will be expected to work closely with the other Senior Leadership Team members to contribute to the ongoing development and growth of the Secondary School.

Professional Responsibilities
· Promote the mission and vision of ISR, with clear focus and purpose.
· Provide leadership in the delivery of the IBD program and IGCSE curriculum, as well as in teaching and learning.
· Set and communicate high expectations of the quality of teaching, learning and assessment throughout Secondary.
· Implement and develop schemes and policies to improve teaching and learning.
· Lead and support (re-)accreditation efforts.
· Promote and participate in ongoing professional development.
· Have the desire to work in a forward-thinking international school.
· Be creative, determined, enthusiastic and resilient.
· Take the lead in promoting warm and positive relationships with parents and other stakeholders.
· Take responsibility for safeguarding in the Secondary school.
Experience and Qualifications
· A B.Sc./M.Sc. in Education or Educational Leadership.
· At least 5 years’ experience of teaching Cambridge Curriculum or IB Curriculum
- At least 2 years’ experience in leading an IB Program
- A passion for teaching and learning and a drive to achieve high standards for all.
- Strong management and organizational skills.
- Educational expertise and a proven track record of developing and sustaining high academic standards.
- A strong understanding and use of ICT in the classroom.
- A belief in and a commitment to leading with emotional intelligence.
- An ability and expertise to lead strategically as part of the Leadership Team.
- A cultural understanding and ethos to lead staff and students to continually strive for excellence.
- Experience in actively supporting the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Deputy DSL.
- Fluency in English (knowledge of German education regulations and accreditation standards is advantageous).
