Working with our academy: Leigh Academy High Halstow is a one form entry village primary school with just over 200 pupils. It is ideally situated on the Hoo Peninsula with fantastic views and quiet surroundings as well as close links to the M2 and Medway Tunnel. The school merged with Leigh Academies Trust in January 2019 which provides outstanding opportunities for staff to work collaboratively as well as high-quality professional development.
We pride ourselves on providing high quality learning opportunities so our children can achieve their very best in a community where all of the staff get to know all of the pupils really well. Our priority is ensuring we have a safe and fun place to learn and develop.
We believe in the huge potential of our pupils and focus relentlessly on high aspirations and high achievement. We recognise for some this could be in academic subjects whilst for others their strengths could lie in other areas such as sports and the arts.
The academy is fortunate to have fantastic indoor and outdoor environments where staff have vast opportunities to engage the pupils in their learning. Last summer, the wooden trim trail, fire pit area and outdoor classroom were added. The library has also recently been invested in to make it an inviting place to read for pleasure.
Our mission:
Leigh Academy High Halstow offers a caring and supportive learning environment that nurtures pupils’ development into positive, well rounded members of the community.
We strongly believe in aspiring to provide a world class education and we are proud of our pupils.
We ask parents to commit to our home-school agreement so that they know what we expect of their child. By working in partnership we can jointly ensure that each child makes progress every day allowing them to excel academically and develop into well rounded individuals who contribute positively to our society.
We aim to ensure:
- the highest standards of achievement
- excellent teaching and learning
- a challenging and tailored learning journey for all
- participation, personal development and wellbeing
- courtesy, respect and self-discipline
