Teaching ServiceCondell Park High School, located in South Western Sydney, has an enrolment of 920 students and is a comprehensive, coeducational school with a Support Unit Autism. It has diverse needs with 98% LBOTE, Low Socio-Economic Status and increasing numbers of refugee and international students. The school community is proud of its diversity and promotes the pursuit of excellence in all its members.
We are committed to fostering a positive and productive learning environment catering to advance academic and wellbeing needs of every student. The school has extensive grounds, the latest resources in technology, a Tiered Learning Space, upgraded science laboratories, commercial kitchens, fully equipped indoor and outdoor gyms, a Community Hub and specialist classroom facilities. Condell Park High School prides itself on the individualised approach it offers for high potential and gifted education students increasing future focussed and vocational pathways of study.
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Capacity to plan, implement and manage individual programs for students including transition for post school options.
- Capacity to coordinate whole school focused learning and development programs.
- The ability to ensure that the school support unit operates as part of a whole school approach to education.
- Understanding of the implications for schools meeting the educational and welfare needs of students from low socio-economic communities and language backgrounds other than English.
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies.
