St Andrew’s Church School (Bath) are seeking to appoint a Headteacher, following the current Headteacher’s decision to step down after 5 years of strong leadership. St Andrew’s is renowned for its welcoming culture, inclusion and joy of learning, as well as its ethos of celebrating diversity.
Our vision is that every child should thrive and be the best they can be, as a result of a fully nurturing environment combined with outstanding teaching.
This is a hugely exciting opportunity for an inspirational and compassionate leader to build on the strong foundation currently in place, following a recent ‘Good’ OFSTED Inspection in April 2022.

- A management approach rooted in kindness and empathy
- High expectations for ongoing school improvement
- Excellent personal and team-building skills
- A proven record of excellent classroom practice
- A dynamic approach to innovation and change, informed by the latest educational research
- An excellent track record of working closely with Governors, parents, carers and the wider community in a whole-school leadership role, such as a Deputy Headship
We can offer:
- A highly inclusive culture based on our Christian values
- A thrive-based approach to pupils’ welfare and behaviour
- A school that places the wellbeing of all at the heart of what we do
- An excellent and well-established team of teaching and support staff
- A school environment that feels calm yet joyful
- A strongly supportive Governing Body
- Excellent links (formal and informal) with parents and a very active “Friends” group
- A high level of collaboration, CPD and support as part of the Bath and Wells Multi-Academy Trust

At St Andrew’s, we are committed to providing a creative and enjoyable approach to learning. The Creative Curriculum we offer is supported by a series of exciting partnerships and collaborations. One of these, School Without Walls, is a groundbreaking learning programme for primary schools. We were one of the first schools outside of London to adopt it. You can discover more about this and other aspects of our curriculum on the website.
We are a fully inclusive school where every child is valued and given the opportunity to achieve their potential and celebrate personal successes. We are a church school and we welcome children and their families from any or no faith background.
“Learning for Living, Life in All Its Fullness”Our school motto Learning for Living, Life in All Its Fullness wonderfully describes the caring environment in which our children learn, play and make friends. You can view our full Mission Statement here.
Choosing the right school for your child can be difficult. We know that our school and the learning opportunities we provide can ensure your child has a happy, fulfilling and rewarding primary education. I encourage you to explore this website, which will give you a good idea about who we are, what goes on at our school and what both children and parents think of life at St Andrew’s.
However, the best way to find out about our school is to come and see for yourself. Visitors are always welcome. We’d be pleased to show you around and let you experience first-hand what makes our school so vibrant and special.
We look forward to meeting you.
