“Yardleys is a unique and special place” *

The Trust Board are seeking an outstanding candidate with a strong desire to improve the life chances of our students through a combination of strong academic standards and a focus on the whole child. Yardleys is an innovative and forward-thinking community, ambitious for the future.

Judged ‘Good’ by Ofsted in 2023 with many outstanding features, Yardleys is a thriving, vibrant and heavily oversubscribed 11-16 multi-ethnic stand-alone academy in Birmingham, with 926 students on roll. The diversity of the school population reflects the rich, cultural mix of the local area.

The school is highly focused on raising standards of pupil achievement and is successful at doing so. Yardleys is in the top 20% of schools nationally for progress (Progress 8 +0.33 in 2023) and attainment is above the national average in many subjects including English (+0.7) and Maths (+0.39).

The school motto “Working together for a better future” is far more than just words. The collaborative ethos which permeates the school is at the heart of our success. Excellent student behaviour and an extremely well organised school provide the foundation for teachers to focus on delivering outstanding lessons and continuously improving their practice.

  • a clear and committed strategic vision, combined with highly effective communication skills that will inspire, motivate and lead all key stakeholders.

Above all, you will share our passion and belief that children, their learning and developing their potential is at the heart of all decisions.
