Braidwood Trust School for the Deaf is seeking a new Head Teacher. The vacancy arises upon the retirement of the current headteacher Karen Saywood, at the end of the autumn term 2023.

Braidwood is a warm and welcoming school with a strong and enduring commitment to providing an excellent education for Deaf young people, aged 11 to 18 years using a Total Communication approach including British Sign Language.

We are a small and friendly school that places positive mental health and wellbeing at the forefront of all we do. Our values of Honesty, Respect and Effort are woven through everything we do as a school and as individuals.

You will find learners who are energetic, imaginative, and eager to learn, and a staff that meet these attributes with enthusiasm and vigour.

The successful candidate will be expected to take up the appointment at the beginning of the Spring Term January 2024 although this could be negotiated. Informal visits to the school, can be arranged by contacting the school.
