Salary:        Up to £85,000 per annum dependent on experience (not pro rata). £2,000 Welcome Bonus (T&Cs apply) plus non contractual bonus!

Hours:        Monday to Friday 

Contract:   Permanent, Term Time only

We’re looking for an experienced Headteacher to join the amazing team at Oak Tree School in Truro.

About the role 

As Headteacher, you will promote a relentless focus on the quality of education and delivery of a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum that meets the needs of pupils and young people along with producing positive outcomes.

You will be joining a high achieving company and executive team, leading your own outstanding school and positively impacting the lives of many young people. As part of our team, you will focus on developing self-esteem and wellbeing, as well as academic performance and development. 

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to hear from SEN professionals with the ability and ambition to inspire a multi-disciplinary team to deliver outstanding learning for pupils and young people with special education needs.

We are looking for someone who knows how to bring a creative and innovative approach to improving performance and support for our pupils and their families. An excellent communicator, you will become an ambassador for Acorn Education, as the role will include working in partnership with parents, local authorities and other stakeholders.

Essential

  • Qualified Teacher Status of Equivalent
  • Willingness to extend personal and professional development
  • Prior experience as a senior leader in an SEN school

Oak Tree School in Truro has recently expanded and developed two new buildings and undergone a successful inspection. Oak Tree School is a specialist SEMH provision positioned near the city of Truro in Cornwall. The school provides full-time specialist co-education for up to 135 pupils and young people aged 5 to 18 who experience social, emotional, mental health, communication difficulties and associated challenging behaviours. These pupils and young people often cannot cope, function or achieve within a mainstream environment. The aim is to provide a structured, nurturing approach, with pupils accessing a broad, balanced and engaging curriculum to meet their significant needs.
