A bit about us:
Kington St Michael CE Primary School is a small village school located just outside Chippenham. We are a popular school in an attractive rural setting, where expectations are high and standards consistently good. KSM is “an Outstanding school” (Ofsted, November 2014) and an Outstanding Church School (SIAMS, October 2016).
All about the role:
The appointed Headteacher will have:
- A dynamic vision for the education of all children and be passionate about leading a church school
- The ability to connect with families across our community
- A clear commitment to include and champion our Pupil Premium, SEND and EAL students
- The capability to work with and inspire children across the primary age range
- The drive to encourage excellence and high standards, especially through our staff’s continuing professional development.
In return, we can offer you:
- An experienced staff team, who are proud to work at the school, feel valued and supported and are committed to the Christian ethos of the school
- Enthusiastic, well-motivated and happy children
- The support and challenge of an active and committed governing body
- Support from our active and enthusiastic parent group
- Close links with the local church and wider village community
We are a thriving school set in the historic village of Kington St Michael, drawing pupils from the village and surrounding areas.
A carefully constructed school development plan underpins the continuous improvements expected in teaching and learning, curriculum planning, and special and additional educational needs. We benefit from a committed and talented teaching and support staff, a family-friendly atmosphere, wonderful pupils and supportive parents and carers. We are looking to appoint a Headteacher with the skills to maintain the school’s ethos, with the inspiration and vision to develop the school even further.
You must have the knowledge, experience, and resilience to drive improvement throughout the school, with the interpersonal skills to motivate others and lead our team. It is expected that this would be demonstrated by NPQH, or evidence of an equivalent level of learning achieved through senior leadership role within a school.
