Job overview

We are a large, fully inclusive, co-educational comprehensive secondary school located in Newham in the east of London. As part of Newham Community Learning, a family of six schools which together educate children and young people between the ages of two and sixteen, we are able to both draw on support from colleagues across the Trust and contribute towards its development. At the same time, our school remains rooted in our local community, with its own distinct ethos and culture.

We are looking for a Headteacher who is able to demonstrate, above all else, a track record of delivering excellent educational outcomes for students. The successful candidate will further be able to demonstrate a record of highly visible school leadership, combined with strong teamworking skills - both at school level and at Trust level (where applicable). Furthermore, as a candidate, you will be committed to fostering a culture of high standards and academic excellence across all areas of the curriculum.

While our school is in a good position at present, there are still a huge range of opportunities for the new Headteacher to develop the school further. A key priority will be to continue to drive the school improvement programme already in place. Determined leadership, to ensure that our curriculum meets the needs of all our students, and that support is in place to enable further improvements in the quality of teaching and learning, will be a pre-requisite.
