Thank you for your interest in our school.

As Headteacher, I am dedicated to building opportunities for students to achieve the highest academic standards, ensuring that they are regarded as individuals in their own right and that their unique personality, talents and interests are nurtured and developed in full.

Education at Oldbury Academy is about developing the whole child and providing opportunities for them to flourish within and beyond the classroom. Instilling the values of respect, courtesy, tolerance and cooperation are an important part of our role as educators as we prepare our students for their path into higher education and the world of work.

Our mission is, through a balanced curriculum and within an ethos of tolerance, equality of opportunity and morality, to develop the talents of all students so that they may enter an ever changing world with appropriate skills, attitudes and standards.

Our vision ‘CARE’ underpins everything we do at Oldbury Academy

Celebrate together

•Rewarding those who consistently ‘get it right’ in all aspects of school life

•Every person being active in their contribution to our community

•Working together to shape a brighter future

Achievement for all

•Creating bright futures regardless of background and abilities

•Shaping exceptional citizens, well equipped for the wider world

•Supporting young people by offering a wide range of valuable, educational pathways

Respect each other

•A culture of tolerance, diversity, understanding and equality

•An environment where everyone feels safe, secure and included

•All members of our community being independent and making positive, well informed      choices

Expectations to succeed

•High levels of challenge, expectation and accountability

•Developing a culture of success, positivity and happiness

•Aspirational ‘thinking and doing’ to reach and exceed your own goals

We apply the same standards to our staff and place a high value on professional development, regarding it as a key part of our approach to school improvement. All staff are entitled to training and development to make sure that they can fulfil their responsibilities confidently and competently. We recognise that staff engaging in additional training opportunities can have enrichment benefits for our school and each application for time and/ or funding is looked at individually.

A key aspect of our school ethos is the importance of saying thank you. All staff are responsible for ensuring that they thank and acknowledge people for their work. We are first and foremost a team and as such must recognise the value that each one of us brings to the others.

Thaks again for you interest in our school.
