The States of Guernsey are seeking to appoint a Headteacher to join the team at Vale Primary School.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the effective running of the school and its strategic leadership. They will also be responsible for ensuring learning is at the heart of the school and for creating, maintaining and developing high quality teaching and learning across the school.


Vale Primary School is a 3-form entry school of 476 pupils serving the north of the island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands. The school's core ethos is: ‘Value All Learners Equally.’ It is the primary aim of Vale school that every member of the community feels valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well. The school aims to develop a caring school community, whose values are built on mutual trust and respect for all, based on the prommotion of good relationships, so that people can work together with the common purpose of helping everyone to learn and reach their full potential. They aim to help children to grow in a safe and secure environment, and to become positive, responsible and increasingly independent members of the school community.

 

The successful candidate will be able to deliver the highest standards of leadership to ensure high quality teaching and learning for the children of Vale continues. They will demonstrate empathy, compassion and a clear understanding of the needs of the community it serves. They will be a key driver in in ensuring all children become successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors.
